Elephant in the Forest

The severe drought in Mana Pools this year threatened much of its wildlife and even prompted operators to bring in food for the animals - an unprecedented occurrence. Despite this the beauty of the landscape remained. I wanted to portray the predicament of the wildlife while illustrating this beauty, so waited in front of this curved branch until this tuskless, lone youngster arrived to complete my scene.
