The Last Cheetah
Having spotted this cheetah after sunset in the Makgadikgadi, we kept our distance in case it spotted a potential target to ensure we didn't disturb its hunt. The low light meant that I had to push my camera to its ISO limits. Even then my slow shutter speed meant it was difficult to capture a sharp shot of the moving subject with my 400mm lens. Fortunately it sat still on a ridge and watching it alone in the darkness, I couldn't help thinking that if current population declines are not arrested, this could be a sign of the future for both this species and potentially African wildlife in general.
